Open Factories, Transylvania

We don't take the factories to a fair. We bring the market to the factories. One weekend a year, partner manufacturers open their doors at the same time, on two curated routes, and buyers invited by name walk from hall to hall and see with their own eyes who can make their product.

Why at the factory, why together

In Italy's industrial districts, manufacturers don't chase clients one fair at a time. They receive them together, at home, once a year, on routes everyone knows. A buyer sees ten factories in two days, compares, chooses. The manufacturer doesn't pay for a stand. He pays for good coffee and a clean hall.

Transylvania has plenty to show: beech and oak furniture plants, workshops making laminated timber windows, halls where entire house walls are prefabricated. What it never had was someone to bring the buyers, translate, and keep the thread alive after they leave.

“A buyer from Rotterdam doesn't read a datasheet. He looks at a hall and decides whether it's worth the trip. We make the trip.”

The whole weekend is filmed and photographed. Every factory leaves with its own material, published across the RDL.Network magazines in the buyers' languages. That way the project keeps working after the gates close.

The two routes

The furniture route

Furniture, components, interior joinery

Mureș, Harghita, Bistrița, Cluj: beech and oak, small and mid series, fronts, casework, tables, components for European brands. For retail, contract and interior-project buyers.

The houses route

Prefabricated structures, windows, turnkey houses

Suceava, Brașov, Sibiu, Arad: prefabricated timber-frame walls, laminated timber windows, houses delivered and assembled across western Europe. For developers, contractors and architecture offices.

How the weekend runs

Friday evening

Arrival in Cluj or Târgu Mureș. Dinner with the host manufacturers: first conversations, no presentations.

Saturday

First route. Three factories in the morning, three in the afternoon, two hours each: production in progress, samples, a translated conversation on capacity, lead times and prices. Evening meetings on request.

Sunday

Second route, or a return to the factories you want to talk to in detail. Departure after lunch.

The week after

Every factory you visited receives your request through the RWTA desk, with the next step prepared in your language. We keep the thread alive until samples and orders.

FOR BUYERS

Ask to be invited

This is not a public event. We invite buyers who are actively sourcing in the product families of the host factories. Tell us what you source and we'll come back with the programme as soon as the routes are set.
